The game automatically saves your progress frequently, but knowing the details can prevent you from losing hours of work.

Manual Saving: Even with autosave, you can manually save anytime. Go to Data Utility or the Settings/Options menu in the pause or main menu and select Save. This is handy if you just finished a long game or made big changes to your team.

No Year-to-Year Transfers: You cannot bring save files from MLB The Show 25 into 26. Each new yearly release starts fresh for careers, franchises, and player progress.

Cross-Console Progression: Within MLB The Show 26, you can move your save between consoles (like PS5 to Xbox) by linking your official account. This is great if you switch platforms mid-season.

2. Earning a "Save" as a Pitcher

In baseball, a save is a statistic for relief pitchers, and The Show follows real MLB rules closely. This matters if you’re grinding missions in Diamond Dynasty or Mini Seasons.

The Basic Rule: Your relief pitcher must finish the game, not be the winning pitcher, and record at least one out while the team is leading by 3 runs or less.

The 3-Inning Rule: If your pitcher handles the final three innings, they earn a save no matter the lead.

High-Leverage Situations: If you bring in a pitcher when the tying run is on base, at bat, or on deck, they can also earn a save, even if your lead is bigger than 3 runs. This is useful in blowout or tricky late-game situations.

3. Community Content & “Now and Later” Rewards

Even though game saves don’t carry over year-to-year, some progress can still feel “saved.”

Vault System: Custom logos, stadium designs, and other community creations are often re-uploaded to the Community Vault, so you don’t need to redo them from scratch.

Now & Later Rewards: If you participated in late-season events in The Show 25, you might receive vouchers that give you a head start in The Show 26—extra packs or stubs to help your team early.
